PLEASE READ SLING SAFETY BEFORE USING YOUR SLING

PUTTING ON YOUR SLING

Fold sling in half along the seam.

Put sling over your head, wear like a sash.  Make sure sling is flat and smooth across your back.

Baby's bottom should always rest on the french seam.  This is the strongest part of the sling.

CRADDLE CARRY - Birth (full term and over 7 pounds) to 4 Months

Put on your sling with the french seam in the middle of your body.  Hold baby with one arm – with your free arm open sling by pulling outer edge away from you.

While completely supporting all of baby’s weight, slowly lower baby into sling, bottom first. Carefully place baby’s legs in sling.  Open sling wide enough to allow baby’s head to rest back against you.  Baby needs to be looking up and not have his chin against his chest or his face covered by the sling.

Pull fabric up on both sides and be sure baby is supported by the sling.  Until you are comfortable using a sling, keep one hand on your baby.

HIP CARRY - 6 months with good head control up to 35 pounds

Hold child high up on free shoulder.  Put baby’s legs against your body and completely through sling.

Slowly lower child into the sling by opening up the sling to form a seat and sitting your child into the sling.

The bottom rail should be under her knees and the top rail should be pulled under baby’s armpits or over her shoulders for a more secure hold.  All of baby's weight should be resting on the french seam.

BACK CARRY:  At least 18 months

Start with a Hip Carry as shown below.  Please note, the bottom of the sling should be slightly above your hip.

Keep child secure by pulling fabric high up on her back & slowly slide sling around your body. Move your arm in front of baby.  Continuing turning sling until baby is secure on your back.

TIP:  For a tighter fit, flip fabric over your shoulder (as shown in Hip Carry photo).
